Email for office hoursAnthony S. Wright, PhD (2014, Philosophy & Religion), is an scholar of Chinese philosophy and complexity science. At Sonoma State University, Dr. Wright has taught Ethics, Critical Thinking, and Philosophy of Communication. He has been studying the Confucian “Classic of Changes” (also known as the Yì Jīng [易巠]) since 1967. He is an independent audio producer at KWMR 90.5 FM in Point Reyes Station, with three ongoing radio shows: Spirit & Mind, which features the talks of Alan Watts; Attunement, a personal interview show; and Deepwaking, which features the adult archetypal stories of Jungian analyst Clarissa Pinkola Estes, PhD. He has been a recording engineer for poet Robert Bly, Jungian scholar James Hillman, transpersonal psychologist John Welwood, and others. He has taught courses on the scientific basis of divination, Chinese philosophy & complexity science, and interview techniques. His research interests include how to attend to and interact with the cosmos as vibratory organic patterns, working with hypnotic states, and developing a pedagogy of the subconscious mind. Dr. Wright has been a concert-artist level piano technician for 52 years, and has been trained at Yamaha Corporation (various dates1988 to 2016) and at the Steinway Piano factory in New York City (2005). He currently lives in Western Marin County, California.
